Native Region:

Angelfish are native to the slow-moving rivers and flooded forests of the Amazon Basin in South America, where they thrive in warm, soft, and slightly acidic water.

Tank Size: Minimum of 30 gallons

Temperature: 76-82°F (24-28°C)

pH: 6.0-7.5

Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water

Substrate: Fine sand or smooth gravel with plenty of vertical decor, such as driftwood and tall plants, to mimic their natural environment.


Additional Tips:

Social Behavior: Best kept in groups of at least 4-6 when young, but pairs may form and become territorial as they mature.

Compatibility: Can be housed with other peaceful community fish but should not be kept with very small fish that may be seen as prey.

Diet: Provide a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms for optimal health and coloration.
