Tropical Turbo Snails are a less common subspecies of turbo snail native to the Atlantic Ocean. They can be differentiated from Mexican Turbos by their smoother appearance, and somewhat more compressed shell.
Care
Tropical Turbo Snails, like Mexican Turbos, grow to a size of 2" and make excellent clean up crew members. They'll most often be found slowly crawling along the glass or the rockwork, constantly consuming algae as they go. Due to their size, they have a tendency to 'bulldoze' improperly secured coral frags. As an invert, they're intolerant of copper and sudden parameter changes, so it's important to drip acclimate.
Diet
Tropical Turbo Snails thrive on film algae found in the aquarium, and don't require direct feeding. It's important not to overstock them, as they will starve if there is too much competition for algae.
