A bucket-list fish if ever there was one! Featuring rich black over much of its body, with starkly contrasting accents of orange and white, it's safe to say that all reefers have a weakness for the Achilles tang.
Care
Like their namesake, the mighty Achilles, these tangs have a weakness. They are considered an expert only tang, requiring a very large aquarium of 180 gallons or more with strong turbulent flow. Like most Acanthurus tangs, they're also highly susceptible to ich, so a quarantine is recommended. Adult size is about 8-9".
Diet
Like most tangs, Achilles require a diet high in algae, so provide them with plenty of nori and rock to graze on, in addition to meaty foods.
