Rock Flower Anemones, also known as beaded anemones, are a unique and beautiful variety of highly colorful and variable anemone. They come in a dazzling array of colors and patterns, with no 2 specimens looking exactly the same.
Care
Rock Flower Anemones grow to a maximum size of 6", and prefer to live in sandy substrate where they can bury their foot, exposing only the colorful oral disc. Though they will not host clownfish due to their powerful sting, they will host some invertebrates like sexy shrimp or anemone crabs. They are fairly adaptable, but prefer low to moderate lighting and flow. Unlike the ever popular bubble tip anemone, Rock Flowers don't have the tendency to wander around the tank stinging corals as they go, making them a perfect option for tanks stuffed with expensive frags. Interestingly, rock flowers commonly reproduce both through budding and yearly spawning events in the fall.
Diet
Rock Flower Anemones are photosynthetic, and will generally obtain all the energy they need from proper lighting and catching scraps in the aquarium. However, for faster growth and increased breeding, it's advisable to target feed protein rich foods such as frozen mysis or prepared coral foods.
You will receive a rock flower anemone of our choice, unless specified as a WYSIWYG.
