The Blue Devil Damsel is commonly found in the shallow reefs of the Indo-Pacific region, including areas around the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Great Barrier Reef.

Aquarium Setup:

Tank Size: Minimum 20 gallons for a single fish; larger tanks recommended for groups.

Substrate: Sand or fine gravel.

Decor: Live rock for hiding spots and territorial exploration, mimicking its natural reef environment.

Temperature: 75-82°F (24-28°C)

pH: 8.1-8.4

Salinity: 1.023-1.025 specific gravity

Hardness: 8-12 dKH

Care Level:

Difficulty: Easy; a hardy fish well-suited for beginners.

Diet: Omnivorous; feeds on a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellets, and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp.

Behavior: Active and can be territorial, especially in smaller tanks. Best kept with similarly sized or larger fish that can handle semi-aggressive behavior.

Additional Tips:

Tank Mates: Suitable for tanks with other robust and semi-aggressive species. Avoid pairing with very passive fish to prevent stress or bullying.

Reef Compatibility: Safe for reef tanks; does not harm corals or invertebrates.

Social Structure: Can be kept singly or in groups if the tank size allows. Multiple damsels may display territorial disputes without adequate space.
