Arrow Crabs, also commonly known as Spider Crabs, are one of the more fascinating and strange inverts commonly available in the aquarium trade. The name Arrow Crab derives from the pointed shape of their carapace, which resembles an arrow head. Their other common name, Spider Crab, is obvious based on their long spindly legs and spider-like movements. They're sometimes added to clean up crews for their ability to control bristle worm populations.
Care
Spider Crabs are collected from many parts of the world, and vary somewhat in size and appearance, but average around 6". As with many crab species, it's important to ensure they're properly fed. They are opportunistic feeders, so when hungry enough, they may attack other inverts or even fish for food. Like other invertebrates, they're intolerant of copper and rapid changes in water chemistry. Care should be taken to slowly drip acclimate them.
Diet
Arrow Crabs should be fed a diet rich in meaty frozen foods.
